ONELOT FOREST RESIDENCIES
Artists, scientists, thinkers and makers are invited to apply for residencies of 1 to 3 weeks. The second round of residencies will take place between August and November 2020. Project collaborators are welcome to apply for both cabins at once, or we can schedule two simultaneous residencies for creative exchange. We ask for a contribution of $25 per night for the Crate and $30 per night for the Kevin, which allows us to cover maintenance costs.
While there is no expectation of an outcome, we can help if you’d like to arrange a showing or project with the community or local schools.
Depending on your practice, you may like to work in your cabin, or share the main shed space which is a functioning puppetmaking workshop. There is an outside workshop for dusty and noisy processes, and a 7m x 7m inside workshop with a 6m high roof for the quieter cleaner stuff. There are tools such as a drill press, band saw, drop saw, welder, anvil and sewing machines but we encourage you to bring your own hand tools and materials.
Residents should supply their own food although we are happy to share some meals and cooking.
Children are welcome, because we know how hard it can be to find residencies when you’re a parent! Two friendly children live on the property.
While your time can be spent as you please, we do appreciate some help around the place, such as weeding, wood-chopping or cooking.
All the usual expectations about courtesy, honesty and respect for the place apply. We reserve the right to remove you from the property without notice if you present a threat in any way.
